Today NWO announced that they will award the prestigious Vici grant to our group for developing hybrid spin-mechanical systems! This is very exciting news and will allow us to probe the boundaries of quantum states of mechanical systems using two-level systems.

We have successfully started our first spin-off company from the lab - QphoX. Over the coming years, we will be developing the first Quantum Modem device, which will allow to network quantum processors and will form the backbone of the quantum internet. This endeavor is being support by Quantonation, Speedinvest, HTGF and the TU Delft!

Paper #2 out of our group appeared in PRL today! Great work Richard + João! - We demonstrate 108 Q and reflectivities exceeding 99% in our mechanical resonators, which will hopefully allow us to observe quantum effects in such structures at room temperature. You can also find the paper free to read on the arXiv.

We managed to experimentally demonstrate a non-classical state of a mechanical oscillator! The European Research Council has now officially announced that we have been awarded an ERC Starting Grant! That is very exciting news and will allow us to pursue our research on single-photon strong coupling over the next 5 years.
